National Trail’s Day at Swift Creek, June 7th at 9:30 a.m.

Celebrate National Trails Day and join Whitefish Legacy Partners for a trail work day on the Whitefish Trail at Swift Creek.  Learn about conservation efforts in the Whitefish Range while helping to maintain the beautiful Swift Creek Trail.  Participants will be greeted by sections of old growth forest, raging Swift Creek, vast mountain panoramas, and the calming solace of Smith Lake.

The project will be co-led by Montana Conservation Corps Crew and Whitefish Legacy Partners and is featured in the Montana Wilderness Association’s Wilderness Walks.  Crews will be working on brushing, drainage maintenance and tread work.  Bring your own gloves, lunch, water and rain gear.

Meet at Whitefish Depot Park at 9:00am or at Swift Creek Trailhead at 9:30am. If driving direct, meet at Swift Creek Trailhead just past Lower Whitefish Lake Road about 8 miles from Whitefish on East Lakeshore Drive.

The Whitefish Trail offers 26 miles of natural surface trails and seven trailheads located in a forested, rural environment popular for biking, hiking and equestrian use. The diverse trail system is appropriate for outdoor enthusiasts and families including hikers, dog walkers, mountain bikers, horseback riders and runners, of all abilities.
