WLP was recently awarded a three year, $10,000 grant to increase our Bear Aware outreach, lectures, and hikes. It will also help us replace and add bear proof trash cans and provide awareness event attendees inert bear spray cans for practice. This project is made possible through a grant from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, with support from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, in partnership with Heart of the Rockies Initiative.

A recent $3,000 education grant will support the expansion of our summer youth and adult programming on the Whitefish Trail in 2025. This funding is derived from a federal award from the Conservation Education Program of the US Forest Service, Department of Agriculture and sub-awarded by Montana DNRC. Thank you Montana DNRC!

A recent ACE grant is funding first aid supplies for our new Whitefish Trail work truck and walkie talkies for use in our education programs. ACE grants are funded through the Montana State Fund and reward deserving Montana non-profits that promote safe workplaces and enhance the quality of life in their local communities.
