Late April Trail Report

This is an exciting time on the Whitefish Trail, as people emerge after winter and get back out on the trail. There's a sense of excitement; mountain bikes are pulled out of storage, and locals hit the trail after work thanks to the increasingly long days. The trails often seem to glow this time of year with the budding, soft, lime-green color of the larch needles.

The Whitefish Trail is in great shape and ready for a new season. All of Lion, Skyles, Smith Lake, Swift Creek, Holbrook Overlook, Beaver Lake, Woods Lake, Dollar Lake trails are snow free and dry! WT Reservoir up to the cell tower is snow free, but above that you will encounter patches of snow and mud. The Big Mountain Trailhead is still mostly snow covered and melting fast. If you come across any downed trees, please report them to info@whitefishlegacy.org. Enjoy the trail and don't forget to log your miles all month long throughout May!

Send us your spring trail reports and photos to info@whitefishlegacy.org!
