WLP wins Cinnabar Foundation Grant!

Whitefish Legacy Partners has been awarded a $3,000 grant from the Cinnabar Foundation to support private land conservation work in the Smith Lake drainage.

“These south-facing, mid-slope elevations are important winter range for rocky mountain elk and mule deer and provide a critical migration corridor for grizzly bears, mountain lions, and Canadian lynx. Neighboring private lands along the face of the Whitefish Range have recently been listed for sale or have sold, making this conservation corridor vulnerable to development pressure. As the population of Whitefish, tourism visitation, and property values increase, it is critically important that we secure these private lands for the future of wildlife and broad community value.”  -except from 2019 Special Project Grant application
