Description
The Mission: Facilitating opportunities for middle school girls to build confidence in the outdoors through mountain biking on the Whitefish Trail while growing competency, friendships, and a long-term appreciation of outdoor recreation. SCHEDULE—Six Wednesdays throughout the summer (June 25, July 9, July 16, July 23, August 6, August 20) *9:45am-10am: drop off at trailhead *10:00am-2:45: Bike Lessons Bike Rides Swimming Misc outdoor skills (ie. Navigating trail maps, planning a route, bike maintenance, bear aware, etc) *2:45pm-3:00pm: pick up at trailhead SIGN UP DETAILS-- -Sign up will open here on April 7th, at 7PM. -After you make your payment, you MUST fill out an additional form to complete your registration. -*REGISTRATION IS NOT COMPLETE UNTIL YOU SUBMIT THE REGISTRATION FORM SENT TO YOUR EMAIL IMMEDIATELY AFTER CHECK OUT* -If the camp is full and you choose to sign up on the waitlist, you will receive an email prompting your registration and payment if a spot opens up. We will be releasing SINGLE DAY SPOTS as they become available as well. -If you plan on requesting a scholarship, please email wteducation@whitefishlegacy.org with your request. If approved, you will receive a coupon code for registration. This coupon code does not guarantee your spot in a camp as you will still have to register with everyone else when it opens. -Please email wteducation@whitefishlegacy.org with any questions. PROGRAM PARTICIPANT REQUIREMENTS-- -This is not a program for someone who has never mountain biked. Participants must have biked with their mountain bike on a single-track trail before participating in the program. -Participants must have access to a mountain bike with a functional front shock, gears, and hand brakes. -Participants must be 11-14 years old. -If participants plan to swim, they must be able to pass a basic swim test. REQUIRED PACKING LIST-- -A mountain bike with a functional front shock, gears, and hand brakes -A well-fitted and functional bike helmet -Close-toed biking shoes (tennis shoes are fine) -Appropriate clothing and layers for the weather -A sack lunch and two liters of water -A swimsuit and towel -A way to carry lunch, water, swimming suit, and towel (ie. backpack)






Cancellation Policy
To receive a full refund, camp registrants must cancel before May 16th. If registrants cancel on or after May 16th, no refund whatsoever will be awarded. If registrants know they will not be able to attend a day of camp, they are expected to communicate this absence at least one week in advance, so WLP can try to fill this slot. Registrants are expected to attend a minimum of 5 out of 6 camp days.
