WLP Receives FEC's Roundup for Safety Grant for Lower Reservoir Switchback Improvements

This spring, WLP received a Flathead Electric Cooperative Roundup for Safety grant to address erosion and safety issues on the Whitefish Trail at Reservoir Trail. The steepness of the terrain and ongoing use has led to erosion and widening of the climbing turns that trail maintenance cannot keep up with year after year. Work will reinforce and regrade the eroded switchbacks to create a more sustainable, slip-resistant surface, while also increasing the switchback turn radius allowing for easier turning and better visibility. Improvements will reduce erosion and prevent trail tread degradation for all users. The work is scheduled for June and is expected to take approximately one week.
