May Whitefish Trail Report

We are in a sweet spot on the Whitefish Trail between mud season and dust season! The trails are in great shape, and the flowers are popping all over! The trails were drying out quickly in some places, so the recent rains are a welcome remedy. There have been reports of buggy spots near Woods and Dollar Lake and between Skyles and Beaver - nothing a slight breeze won't fix.
As we are all getting back out on the trails, please remember that the Skyles Trailhead parking lot has a limit of 6 vehicles. We are fortunate to have an agreement with the local landowners in the area to have a trailhead at this location. As Skyles Lane is a private road, there are a limited number of parking spots to lessen the impact on the neighborhood. If the Skyles trailhead is full, please try another trailhead.
Note: Road construction on US 93 west of Whitefish has begun for the season. Lion Mountain, Skyles, Twin Bridges, Beaver Lakes, and Lupfer Trailheads will remain open throughout the construction. Crews will not be working over Memorial Day Weekend.
Enjoy the trail and don't forget to log your miles all month long throughout May for the WT Hit the Trail Challenge!
