Whitefish Legacy Partners is requesting proposals on behalf of the City of Whitefish from interested contractors for Haskill Basin trail construction and forestry for the summer of 2017. The single track and natural surface trail will extend from a new trailhead located adjacent to the City of Whitefish water treatment plant on Reservoir Road to a new trailhead located 3.2 miles up Big Mountain Rd. Specifications and guidelines will be available by 1:00pm Wednesday, April 19, at Whitefish Parks & Recreation Department at 510 Railway St., Whitefish, MT, or online at www.whitefishlegacy.org.
Interested contractors will be required to attend a mandatory walk-through on May 3 at 9:30 am. Quotations will be due by 4:00pm on Friday, May 19, with work slated to begin as soon as possible thereafter. Trail corridor forestry should be completed no later than July 31 with final low-stumping completed by October 15. Â Trail construction should be completed no later than August 31, 2017 for the Lower Haskill trail project and September 30, 2017 for the Upper Haskill trail project.
Trail construction will be separated into two projects: Upper Haskill and Lower Haskill. Proposals should be submitted to the Whitefish Parks & Recreation Department referencing Whitefish Trail Haskill Forestry, Whitefish Trail Upper Haskill Trail Construction or Whitefish Trail Lower Haskill Trail Construction.
