The trails across the system have really benefited from the recent rains and are in great shape. The huckleberries are still going strong at higher elevations, and the Whitefish Trail feels like paradise. Are you loving the the trails as much as we are? Our Summer camps are in full swing, and our Trail Crews are still hard at work checking off the summer To Do list. Would you like to help us? Volunteer at our August 18 workday at South Spencer.
Monday, August 18th, 10am-2pm: Calling all weed whacker/eaters and brush saws! We will work on brushing a section of South Spencer. Most of the 5-mile loop has been brushed, but there is ~1 mile section of trail that is overgrown. We will meet at Twin Bridges Trailhead and carpool up a forest management road to get closer to the project location. We have a hedge trimmer and a brush saw, but depending on the number of volunteers that are available for this project, it would be ideal to get a few more machines running. Please let Sarah know if you have a tool we can borrow even if you can’t make the workday. Please wear long pants, close-toed shoes, and bring water/snack. Sarah will have all the tools you need, volunteer waivers, a first aid kit, bear spray, and cold beverages to celebrate our hard work. Please rsvp to Sarah.
With 47 miles of trail and 15 trailheads we couldn't do it without a whole team of contributors including our trail volunteers, trail patrollers, corporate and Adopt A Trail sponsors, and our Whitefish Trail Friends, Family and Partners! This year during Great Fish, please donate to Whitefish Legacy Partners to help keep the Whitefish Trail in great shape and accessible to all forever.
Send your trail reports and photos to info@whitefishlegacy.org!
