About the event

Meander through the woods at Smith Lake with native plant expert Lech Naumovich and learn about the wide array of wildflowers that line the Whitefish Trail. This botanical hike will introduce and explore some common Montana plants found in the Flathead, talk a bit about vegetation ecology, and introduce you to iNaturalist, a phone app (iPhone and Android) that documents plants and animals throughout the world.

This hike will be ~2 miles round trip. We will meet at the Smith Lake Trailhead which is located 1 mile down the dirt road off of East Lakeshore Drive (Please note that the road is rough in spots. Keep driving until you hit the loop at the end of the dirt road--you will see a trailhead sign!). All ages and abilities welcome.

This program is free and family friendly, but spots are limited! When you RSVP, be sure to do so for each member of your party and cancel if you change plans.
