About the event

Whitefish Legacy Partners’ Forest Explorers Fall 2023 Afterschool program offers a unique opportunity for kids ages 7-11 to explore the Whitefish Trail. Over the course of 6 weeks, the 2-hour sessions will give kids a chance to enjoy fun-filled afternoons with hikes, arts activities, and games while connecting with the natural world and meeting new friends. Whether learning about forest critters, building fairy houses, or capturing the views in a painting, kids will learn about the animals and ecosystems that surround them through creativity, play, and exploration.

The program will run for 6 weeks on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30pm to 5:30pm between September 13th and October 18th. Please only sign up if you know that your child can attend at least 5 weeks of the program.

Cost is $60. Scholarships are available! If the registration fee is a barrier for you or your family, please see directions below to request a partial or full scholarship.

Drop off and pick up will occur at Lion Mountain Trailhead between 3:15pm to 3:30pm and 5:15pm to 5:30pm.

Sign up details:

  • Sign ups will open on Eventbrite starting on Friday, 9/1, at 8am. (Eventbrite link to be added before Friday)
  • This year you will sign up for the program via the Eventbrite page and then, if you get a spot, register and pay for the camp separately.
  • If the program is full when you register and you choose to sign up on the waitlist, you will only receive an email prompting your registration and payment if a spot opens up.

Please email jedd@whitefishlegacy.org with any other questions.

The Whitefish Trail runs through a mix of state, federal, and private lands. These cooperative partners seek to preserve public access, healthy forests, wildlife habitat and water quality on these open lands.
